Aftermath of Okigwe North APC HOR Election: Comr. Ewurum Tells Hon. Onuoha to Keep to Her Words

The political conversations trailing the All Progressives Congress (APC) House of Representatives primary election for Okigwe North Federal Constituency have continued to generate reactions across Imo State, as Comr. Chima Ewurum, an APC member from Onuimo Local Government Area, has called on Hon. Miriam Onuoha to remain committed to the support she earlier pledged to Hon. Uchenna Agasu after the primaries.

Ewurum made the remarks in a video made available to OtownGist while reacting to recent developments surrounding the APC primary election and the emerging disagreements over the outcome.

Hon. Miriam Onuoha, who currently represents Okigwe North Federal Constituency at the House of Representatives, had earlier publicly congratulated Hon. Uchenna Agasu following the primary election and pledged support for the APC candidate.

However, following the circulation of a communiqué reportedly issued by some APC stakeholders from Isiala Mbano rejecting the outcome of the process, political discussions intensified across the constituency.

Reacting to the situation, Ewurum expressed disappointment over what he described as attempts to discredit the process that produced Agasu as candidate after earlier public declarations of support.

“How can you now renege on your words to join in this shenanigans… that the process that produced Hon. Uche Agasu is bad?” he said in the video.

He further stated that he believes Hon. Miriam Onuoha is being influenced by individuals who thrive during periods of political crisis within the party.

“I know her as a peacemaker and bridge builder,” he added, while urging her not to abandon her loyalty to the APC leadership and the position she earlier took after the primaries.

Ewurum also anchored his appeal on the principle of equity and political inclusion within Okigwe North Federal Constituency, which is made up of Isiala Mbano, Okigwe, and Onuimo Local Government Areas.

According to him, Onuimo people have supported candidates from other parts of the constituency over the years despite never producing a representative for the federal constituency.

He noted that Hon. Uchenna Agasu’s emergence has revived political hope among many people in Onuimo who previously felt excluded from representation.

“When you spoke after the primaries, hope came alive for those of us in Onuimo that had lost hope,” he stated while commending Governor Hope Uzodinma for promoting what he described as fairness, equity, and inclusiveness within the party.

The APC primary election in Okigwe North continues to attract reactions from party stakeholders and supporters across the constituency as political alignments ahead of the general elections begin to take shape.

A High-Level Continental Convening Honouring Men Shaping Africa’s Economic and Institutional Future

Africa’s next era of influence is being shaped by a calibre of men operating beyond visibility — men building institutions, moving capital, influencing industries, shaping policy, transforming communities, and contributing meaningfully to the continent’s long-term trajectory.

In June 2026, W.O.W Africa Holdings will convene a select group of these leaders under one continental structure:

The W.O.W Africa 50 Rare Men Continental Honour Circle 2026.

Set to take place in Houghton Estate, Sandton, South Africa, the convening brings together influential African men across enterprise, finance, infrastructure, media, governance, technology, healthcare, development, and strategic leadership.

Under the 2026 theme:

BLACK

BLACK as position.

BLACK as ownership of capital.

BLACK as authority in enterprise.

BLACK as control of narrative.

BLACK as long-term African institution building.

According to organizers, the convening reflects a growing continental need for intentional proximity among African men operating at significant levels of influence and responsibility.

“Across the continent, there are extraordinary men carrying the weight of industries, institutions, economies, and communities.

W.O.W Africa created the 50 Rare Men Continental Honour Circle as a platform for recognition, strategic alignment, and long-term continental relationship building among men whose work continues to shape Africa’s future.”

The 2026 continental circle includes distinguished figures from South Africa, Nigeria, Kenya, Morocco, Tanzania, Zambia, Ghana, and other strategic African regions.

Among those connected to the broader honour circle are:

* Rali Mampeule, Chairman of the Mampeule Foundation and one of South Africa’s most recognised property development figures;

* Victor Ufot, Director at TenTrade Africa and a leading voice in African capital and investment ecosystems;

* Arabile Gumede, internationally recognised financial journalist and economic commentator;

* Dr Brian Monaisa, founder of Marang Aesthetics and one of South Africa’s leading medical entrepreneurs;

* Robert Burale of Kenya, known continentally for transformational leadership and men’s empowerment initiatives;

* Najib Najib of Morocco, respected journalist, filmmaker, and media figure shaping cultural and public discourse across North Africa.

The gathering will operate under private protocol with curated access, strategic networking structures, leadership engagements, institutional participation, and continental relationship building at its core.

W.O.W Africa Holdings confirmed that the initiative forms part of a broader ecosystem focused on leadership, enterprise, economic advancement, strategic partnerships, and African influence on the global stage.

The convening reflects a wider shift toward building stronger continental ecosystems among African leaders whose work carries measurable economic, institutional, and social impact across borders.

As Africa continues to define its position globally, rooms of this calibre are becoming increasingly important in shaping collaboration, influence, investment, and long-term continental direction.
